Dr. Karen I. Wilson

Clinical Neuropsychologist and Owner

Licensed Psychologist, State of California, PSY 18249. Credentialed Health Service Provider in Psychology, National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

Dr. Wilson has spent more than 17 years assessing neurodevelopmental differences in children and adolescents. She completed postdoctoral fellowship training in Neuropsychology at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine and an APA-accredited internship at the University of Florida Health Science Center.

She served as Graduate Coordinator and Department Chair at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and as Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA's Semel Institute. Her research examines psychosocial functioning in children with learning disorders and AD/HD, with funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Beyond the practice, Dr. Wilson hosts the Diverse Thinking, Different Learning podcast and founded ChildNEXUS, a digital platform that connects parents with pediatric mental health and educational resources.

Dr. Claudia Kernan, Licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist

Director of the Pediatric Neuropsychology Fellowship Program at UCLA Medical School. Clinical faculty, UCLA Semel Institute.

Dr. Kernan brings more than 15 years of experience across private practice, hospital, and community settings. She earned her B.A. from Princeton University in anthropology and psychology, and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from UCLA with a minor in developmental psychology.

She completed her predoctoral internship at NYU and her postdoctoral residency at UCLA's Semel Institute, where she serves on the clinical faculty. An active research scientist, she publishes on attention, dyslexia, traumatic brain injury, and multicultural issues in assessment.

Before psychology, Dr. Kernan was a professional ballet dancer and choreographer. She serves on the advisory board of the Entertainment Industry Council.

Dr. Jesse Fischer, Licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist

PEERS® for Adolescents Certified Provider.

Dr. Fischer specializes in the neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental concerns, traumatic brain injury, concussion, and epilepsy.

He completed his postdoctoral fellowship with UCLA's Steve Tisch BrainSPORT Program and his predoctoral internship at UCLA's Semel Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Houston and has published research on brain injury, concussion recovery, sleep, depression, and anxiety.

A Los Angeles native and former collegiate football player, Dr. Fischer knows firsthand how sport, learning, and brain health intersect.

Dr. Chandni Singh, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Specialist in autism spectrum and neurodevelopmental differences.

Dr. Singh has worked with neurodivergent children and families for more than 10 years, with a focus on early diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive assessments for school-aged children.

She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University, completed her predoctoral internship at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and finished her postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University's TRIAD program.

Before joining West LA Neuropsychology, she worked at the UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment and at the Kaiser Permanente West LA Learning and Development Clinic.

Teresa Darensbourg, Office Manager

Teresa Darensbourg

Office Manager

MA in Clinical Psychology. Spanish-English bilingual.

Teresa is the first voice most families hear at the practice. She holds a master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and her thesis examined intellectual, social, and emotional functioning in children with AD/HD and learning disabilities.

Her background spans work as a behavior therapist, research assistant, social worker's assistant, project manager, and educational coach. She plans to pursue a doctoral degree.
